Born in Madrid, Laura studied locally and then at the Royal Ballet School. She joined the Royal Ballet Company in 1995 and was promoted to First Soloist in 2002. In 2007 Laura was promoted to Principal ballerina of the Royal Ballet.
Her repertory includes Tatiana, Kitri, Cupid, Song of the Earth, Danses concertantes, Jealous Sister (Las Hermanas), pas de quatre (Gloria), Mother (Rituals), Lescaut's Mistress, Gamzatti, Symphony in C, Princess Stephanie, Mitzi Caspar and Marie Larisch, Lykanion, pas de trois (Les Rendezvous), First Movement (Concerto), solos in Swan Lake, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Coppélia and Raymonda Act III and roles in Les Biches, Por Vos Muero, In the middle, somewhat elevated, 3 : 4, Gong, Ondine, Rhapsody, Cheating, Lying, Stealing, Sinfonietta, Polyphonia, Le Spectre de la rose and Les Noces.
Laura created roles in many new works, including Room of Cooks and Tryst.
